Bonjour from London! I’m Hadrien Chatelet.
At 17 years old, doing street art activism in my hometown of Nice led me to my first paid job as a merchandising designer. From there I have made my way up to a creative director for major international agencies and brands in London. Over the last 3 years, with my partner in crime Lucy Werner, I have been running The Wern, a PR and Branding Consultancy for start-ups, as well as developing our DIY hub, Hype Yourself. I have honed my skills through developing and teaching design courses for Jolt and General Assembly, where I have been awarded ‘top online teacher of the month’ on several occasions.

Understand:
We start with an overview of everything you need to know about Instagram terminology and tech. How to learn about audience behaviour and engagement from watching your competitors.

Define:
Develop your story and visual world step by step. Before any design work it is essential to discover your story and define all the brand elements that suit your values.

Build:
We get to start on the design of your content. This is a practical guide to help you create your Instagram template using Canva.
1. Choosing your profile picture

Act:
Put the practice on the side, it is time to post your designs and get some feedback from your audience.

+ I’m not a skilled designer, will i be able to do everything?
Yes! There is a misconception that design skills are a god-given gift. This course will prove this bias is wrong and share the methods and resources that designers use.
+ I don’t have a design background, will I understand everything?
You do not need prior knowledge. We will cover only what you need to know in order to begin designing for your brand yourself.
+ I share valuable content but get no likes. Will this help?
Good visual style is a critical element of a brand's success because it can improve the readability of the content and help people recognize and interact with it faster. So yes, the principles taught in this course should enable you to increase engagement (e.g. likes, comments and saves).
+ I spend HOURS on design with no results. Will this help?
Yes. The purpose of this course is to simplify the design process and provide you with ready-to-use templates so you can create content you are confident in much faster.
+ I have significant experience in design. Do I need this course?
Nope. This course is aimed at non-designers. If you are a professional designer or a veteran social media manager then you might find this course a bit too basic. Perhaps our course on elevating your personal brand would be more of interest to you!
+ I don’t have a brand whatsoever. Is this course right for me?
It depends. Defining a visual language is often a step you take after you have a clear idea of your product and audience. If you don’t, then we recommend you first define a clear brand strategy. We do not learn to build a brand in this course. If you do have a clear idea of your business, go ahead and take this course. We support you :)
+ I don’t like Instagram. Will this course change my mind?
Hmm… Is it a genuine dislike of social media that you avoid Instagram or is it because you don't know where to begin with designing stuff? We believe this course will enable you to enjoy Instagram design if it is the design element that holds you back. Otherwise, we cannot recommend this course.
+ What will I be able to do at the end of this course?

+ Does this course certify me as a professional designer?
No, it does not. The goal is to enable you to post daily content on Instagram that people will find attractive and will ultimately lead to sales.
+ How does a self-paced course work?
Once the entire syllabus goes live, you can either blast through it all in one go or take your time and go through it week by week - whatever suits you best. In any case, we want you to complete the course and boost your Instagram account. So as an incentive, I host a private Q&A session with each cohort to ask me any questions, request feedback on the exercises you have done and the workbook.
+ I’m too busy to do this right now
We hear you, time is one of the biggest problems we see with business owners designing their own Instagram content. Our answer is always that you should be your most important client. Consistency is key when it comes to promotion, brand awareness and your new business pipeline. It's TIME to break the zero-promotion habit and start a hype routine. But if you really don't have time then definitely don't buy it. We want you to get the most out of any investment.
+ How much time is this going to take out of my week?
This is a self-paced DIY course of approximately 15 hours of learning. In terms of how much time to implement the lessons and action - how long have you got? Our recommendation would be to try and take a bit of time each day, each week or block out a large chunk of time monthly. If you have a VA, you can create content and work with them to help schedule and share.
+ I’M WORRIED NOT HAVING THE TIME OR ENERGY REQUIRED
The course content is not going to run out of date. If you purchase and then find you are stuck on time, you can return to it later. However, we encourage you to make the most of the material provided as well as asking any questions you have during the live Q&A session in the first month of your enrollment.
+ COMPLETING AN ONLINE COURSE IS A CHALLENGE FOR ME
We believe that people get out what they put into it AND that success doesn't happen overnight. The key is to think in advance about what matters to you and making the most of the course. Our course comes with a step-by-step workbook and a Facebook group where you can ask questions, as well as an Instagram account where we share oodles of tips. All of us at Hype Yourself are here to help and support you along the way.
